Laravel Upgrades

Laravel 10 and 11 no longer get security fixes. We upgrade Laravel applications to a supported version without a rewrite: tests first where they are missing, then one major version at a time, each one through staging before production. It starts with a free upgrade check. You share your composer.lock and PHP version, and we tell you which versions you cross, which packages block you and what drives the cost for your app. Upgrades start from $5k, quoted after the check. Our blog posts "What a Laravel Upgrade Costs, and How to Keep It Small" and "How to Modernize a Legacy Laravel App Without a Rewrite" explain the approach in detail.

FAQ

How much does a Laravel upgrade cost?

Upgrades start from $5k. The price depends on how many versions you cross, which packages are abandoned, how much is tested today and how old the PHP and server are. We quote after the free upgrade check.

What do you need for the upgrade check?

Your composer.lock and the PHP version on your servers. Code access helps but is not needed for the first answer.

Why not jump straight to the latest version?

When one big jump breaks something, you cannot tell which version broke it. One version at a time keeps every step small and testable.

Our app has no tests. Is that a problem?

It makes the upgrade riskier, so we write feature tests around the flows that handle money or data first. They also make every later change cheaper to verify.

Is an upgrade always the right answer?

No. A small internal tool behind a firewall can sometimes wait, and an app whose data model is wrong at its core may need a rebuild instead. We say so after the check.
